Permafrost Crafting Guide: Resources, Recipes and Tools

Permafrost crafting depends on the item, station and blueprint. The community archive lists 176 recipe configurations, not 176 proven player-accessible recipes: hidden and special entries are included. Most named station rows use the workbench or tailoring bench.
We downloaded the archive again on 14 October 2026. Its CSV files are dated 9 October and do not identify the game build. The counts and base values below describe those files; current official availability notes and your recipe screen take priority.
A practical early crafting path
Start with stone tools, gather flint, build a workbench, then use a flint pick to reach copper. Copper or scrap picks add iron according to the file descriptions. Keep materials for heat and repairs rather than spending everything on upgrades.

Resource values worth memorizing
Base values, stack 50 unless noted: stone 8, flint 12, copper 15, coal 16, scrap 18, iron 20, sulfur 22, quality metal 40, frost core 60, moon rock 80. Metal junk breaks down into scrap. Plastic junk breaks down into plastic. Rags break down into cloth.
No coordinate list shipped with the item table. Location notes that do exist are on the map page: iron by the radio tower, a dismantle bench in the church.

How many crafting recipes are in Permafrost?
The archive checked 14 October contains 176 configurations, including hidden entries. It is not a count of currently unlocked recipes.
Why is a recipe missing?
Check its workstation and blueprint. File presence is not proof of availability: the developer says the refined flint sledgehammer note can drop without unlocking the tool.
Does Permafrost have cooking?
Yes. Cooking is confirmed by official patch notes and the stove structure description. The crafting CSV is not a complete cooking-combination book.
